Kūmānu has been supporting community catchment groups to deliver positive environmental outcomes at landscape scales. An example is our work with the Kaweka Community Catchment Collective (KCCC) to support their vision of a resilient and thriving environment and community. Together, we developed a Biosecurity and Environmental Strategy providing a framework for future direction, coordinated action, and effective resource management.
The strategy has helped KCCC build momentum, engage members and partners, and access funding to deliver on-ground outcomes. Kūmānu continues to support KCCC as technical and subject matter experts in biosecurity and environmental management, offering practical guidance and implementation support to protect biodiversity, enhance ecosystem health, and promote long-term environmental sustainability across the Kaweka catchment.
